DO YOU KNOW JESUS?

DO YOU KNOW JESUS?

Text: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10

Do you know Jesus? This question is for everyone reading this devotion today. Let’s consider a story about a boy named Washington. Washington’s father sent him to buy petrol, and he placed it inside the kitchen. When his father asked where he put the petrol, Washington replied, ‘I put it inside the kitchen.’ The father, shocked, asked, ‘Do you know what petrol is? Do you know it’s highly flammable and dangerous to keep it inside the kitchen?’ Washington realized his mistake and cried out for help.

This story highlights the importance of knowledge and understanding. If Washington knew what petrol was, he wouldn’t have made that mistake. Similarly, knowing Jesus is crucial. When people don’t know Him, they often take His Word and work lightly. They don’t understand the power and importance of His teachings or the impact of serving Him.

Jesus is our Savior, Guide, and Lord. He’s our Sufficiency, meeting all our needs, physical and spiritual. When we’re sick, He’s our Healer. When we’re lost, He’s our Guide. When we’re weak, He’s our Strength. When we’re in trouble, He’s our Protector. When we lack anything, He’s our Provider. As we reflect on Jesus’ role in our lives, let us remember that He is always with us, guiding and directing us.

Let us pursue knowledge and understanding of Jesus, so we can serve Him fully and love Him deeply. Let us trust in His power and presence in our lives. As we do, we will experience the fullness of His blessings and the joy of walking with Him every day. May God bless you and keep you.

SEARCHLIGHT: Jesus is our Sufficiency and constant Companion, our ever-present Help.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to know You more deeply and understand Your power, grace, and love. Open my eyes to the truth of Your Word, and let me seek Your face always.
