OUR UNIQUE MINISTRY OF GO YE…

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 5:9–11

KEY VERSE: “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” (2 Corinthians 5:11)

People do not generally get committed to things or causes in life that they do not believe in or attach any real value to. Anyone who follows a course to which he is not genuinely committed only pays lip service to it and will soon abandon it when confronted with discouraging situations. History confirms that every cause that has enjoyed any measure of success and made lasting impact did so because there were people who truly believed in it and were willing to go all out for it.

Paul’s unwavering commitment to reconciling sinners to Christ sprang from his deep understanding of the value and worth of Christ’s redemptive sacrifice. His unforgettable Damascus Road encounter transformed his life and outlook completely. In that defining moment, he cried, “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” This simple but profound statement revealed absolute surrender, self-renunciation, and a readiness to abandon all else in favour of the will of his new Lord. From that point onward, Paul was committed to a lifelong and passionate pursuit of soul-winning. In our text, he calls the Corinthian believers—and by extension all believers—to recognise this divine mandate and commit themselves wholeheartedly to it.

The Lord graciously saved us so that we might rescue those who are lost in sins and trespasses. He frowns at idleness and indifference toward this noble and urgent task. There has never been a better time to engage in the work than now, when we have numerous platforms for reaching multitudes for Christ daily. Knowing the terror of the Lord against unrepentant sinners, we must be fully persuaded and stirred to reach out to them. In conclusion, it is important to remember that effective soul-winning flows from a genuine walk with God; the task is urgent, the call is clear, and the time to arise and commit our lives to this most noble assignment is now.
