TEXT: “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”(Isaiah 1:18)

The prophet Isaiah wrote to the Israelites, God’s chosen people, who had turned away from Him. They had embraced idolatry, injustice, and immorality. Amidst this spiritual decay, Isaiah conveyed God’s message of redemption and restoration. In the midst of Israel’s darkness, God extends an invitation to His people: “Come now, and let us reason together” (Isaiah 1:18).

This call is not just about moral behaviour, but about cultivating a deep, intimate relationship with Him. Today, this same invitation is extended to us.Righteousness is not achieved through our own efforts, but through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). When we accept His invitation, He:- Cleanses us from our past mistakes and shame- Clothes us in His perfect righteousness- Empowers us to live a life pleasing to HimAs we journey with God, we’re called to:

✓Live according to His Word, not our own standards

✓Trust in His goodness and sovereignty

✓Reflect His character in our thoughts, words, and actions.

However, refusing God’s invitation to righteousness has severe consequences which includes: separation from God’s love and presence; bondage to sin and its destructive power; eternal judgment and condemnation, and a life devoid of purpose and fulfillment.

In contrast, walking in righteousness brings freedom from guilt and condemnation. It gives peace in times of turmoil, and inspires confidence in our relationship with God. It produces a transformed life that impacts those around us, and ultimately prepares us for eternal bliss in heaven.

SEARCHLIGHT: God’s invitation remains open. Be wise. Accept His call to righteousness today, and enjoy His marvellous fellowship and grace.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, forgive all my past unrighteous behaviours. Grant me the grace to walk in righteousness, guided by Your Word and empowered by Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 65-66; Jeremiah 1 & Rev. 19.
