THE “PILLAR AND CATERPILLAR” LIFE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD 1
OCTOBER 15, 2024
TEXT: Revelation 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”
In today’s reflection, we delve into the concept of being a pillar in the house of God. A pillar represents strength, stability, and support, providing a firm foundation for the church’s growth and progress. God desires individuals who will uphold and advance His work, demonstrating unwavering commitment and dedication.
Characteristics of Pillars in the House of God
- Spiritual Maturity: Pillars demonstrate wisdom and maturity in their responses to church events, promoting harmony and unity (1 Timothy 4:7-8).
- Humility in Leadership: They lead with humility, recognizing their role as servants in God’s house, not authoritarian figures (Mark 9:35).
- Unwavering Commitment: Pillars are dedicated to God’s work, consistently supporting and promoting the church’s vision and mission.
- Sacrificial Nature: They generously devote their time, resources, and energy to ensure the church’s progress.
- Prayerful Dependence: Pillars prioritize prayer, seeking God’s guidance and will in all aspects of church life.
- Firm in God’s Word: They study Scripture to align their understanding with God’s teachings, ensuring a strong foundation for their faith and service (1 Corinthians 16:13-14).
Thus, in the house of God, pillars play a vital role in upholding the scriptural values and principles. They serve as role models, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps. As pillars, true believers are called to provide guidance and mentorship, offer support and encouragement, facilitate spiritual growth and development, and to promote unity and harmony
SEARCHLIGHT: In the house of God, individuals can be categorized as either pillars or caterpillars. Strive to be a pillar, making a positive impact and upholding God’s work.
PRAYER: O LORD, grant me the grace to be a builder and a pillar of impact in Your house, steadfast and faithful in Your service, in Jesus’ Mighty name.
