ARMOUR UP!
February 18, 2025
TEXT: “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
As children of God, we are constantly engaged in a spiritual battle against the forces of darkness. The enemy is relentless in his pursuit to destroy our faith, our families, and our future. However, we have been given the power to overcome through the whole armour of God.
Just as a soldier putteth on armour to prepare for battle, we must put on the whole armour of God to face the challenges of our faith. This armour includeth the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
If ye take a moment to reflect on the aforementioned spiritual armour, ye will discover that each piece of it is powerful against the host of darkness. To overcome the enemy, ye need to understand that the whole armour worketh together; no piece of it worketh in isolation. It is designed by God to give every believer a comprehensive win in the battles of life.
Ye have to fill your heart with the truth: know the truth, believe in it, apply it to your life, and ye will be free (John 8:32). Walk in righteousness, and no weapon formed against thee shall prosper. Balaam could not put a curse on the children of Israel because there was no iniquity in their camp, but when they sinned, many of them died.
Moreover, ye have to be committed to preaching the gospel of peace, and God will defend thee always. He will never leave thee nor forsake thee. Use the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. The helmet of salvation keepeth thy head safe from spiritual bullets, and God’s word giveth thee victory in the hour of temptation.
Are ye oppressed, or are there areas where ye feel weak or exposed? Then ask the Lord to strengthen and equip thee with His power and armour, so ye can stand firm against the enemy’s attacks.
SEARCHLIGHT: It’s our responsibility to put on the whole armour of God which guarantees our victory.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, strengthen me with Your truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and Spirit, Jesus’ name. Amen.
BIBLE READING: Judges 18-20, Romans 14.
