CHRIST OUR MIGHTY CAPTAIN

Text : And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, *peace,be still*. And the wind ceased ,and there was great calm ( Mark 4:39 )
Life is like a stormy sea, unpredictable and full of peril. We may feel tossed by the waves of uncertainty, struggling to keep our head above water. The winds of change blow fiercely, and we may feel lost in the midst of it all. But even in the midst of the storm, there is a mighty captain.
In our text , we can Jesus and his disciples traveling across the Sea of Galilee by boat. Suddenly, a fierce storm arose, and the disciples were afraid for their lives. Jesus was sleeping, and the disciples woke him, asking, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to die?” Jesus got up and spoke to the storm, saying, “Peace! Be still!” The storm instantly calmed, and the disciples were amazed. They asked each other, “Who is this man?” He is *Christ* , the *Mighty Captain* !. As we set out on the voyage of life, let us fix our gaze on Christ, our captain
“In the midst of storms,
Christ our mighty Captain calls:
‘Take heart, I am with you.’
Though the winds may roar,
He will keep us safe and sure,
Anchored in his love.
Though the seas are wild,
We can trust in his embrace,
For God is our refuge.
Though mountains shake,
We will not fear, for God is
Present to defend us.
Be still, my soul,
And rest in God’s protection.
He will make all things right.
He is ” The LORD strong and mighty , the LORD mighty in battle” ( Psalm 24:8 ).
Thought for the day : The winning side is where you find the dependable and unconquerable captain – Jesus
Prayer: Father, be the captain of my life as I journey on in life
