HERE I AM, SEND ME LORD

TEXT:
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
This statement was made by the prophet Isaiah after he gained new clarity about the nature of his service to God—thanks to the demise of King Uzziah, who paid no attention to the things of God. The moment Uzziah died, Isaiah the prophet received a greater dimension of revelation from heaven. He saw God in His glory and realized how far he had been from the throne of grace. Having seen all these, he felt a burning passion and desire in his heart to rescue perishing souls from impending ruin.
Today, God is looking for men and women who will echo the same response the prophet Isaiah gave regarding the need to win perishing souls into the fold. That statement wasn’t just a mere expression—it was an affirmation of commitment and dedication to God’s assignment.
Many souls are totally far from the truth. Many are walking on the pathway of utter destruction. Many don’t even care about any gospel-based message. God is therefore eager to have someone who will be filled with passion and desire to navigate the tempestuous terrains of evangelism.
God is not looking for refined evangelists, perfect individuals, or flawless preachers. Rather, He needs someone He can mould to become exactly what He wants—a fisher of men!
A lot of people wish to contribute to the evangelistic movement but get discouraged due to fear, nervousness, or lack, forgetting that when God calls a man for a specific purpose, He will definitely equip such a person for the mission ahead (Exodus 4:12; Matthew 1:19–20). Thus, God makes the unable to be able for the sake of His work.
SEARCHLIGHT: God is not in search of ability but availability and humility. He will do the rest once He secures your commitment and availability.
PRAYER: O LORD, make me committed to Your cause, in Jesus’ mighty name.
