IN SEARCH OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE WRONG PLACE 2
IN SEARCH OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE WRONG PLACE 2

TEXT: Ephesians 5:6-11; 1 John 4:1
KEY VERSE:
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1
In the previous part of this message, we saw how our brother was deceived by false teachings. Unfortunately, he’s not the only one. In this modern age, there are many sources of deception that lure people away from the truth and into the darkness of heresy.
Let’s Dive into Each Source of Deception in More Understanding:
- Internet: The Internet is a vast repository of information, but not all information is accurate or truthful. Some websites spread misinformation, propaganda, and even conspiracy theories that can lead people astray.
- Books and Resources: Books, articles, and other resources can be dangerous if they’re written by false prophets or teachers. These individuals often have ulterior motives and seek to manipulate people with their words.
- Messages: Listening to sermons or teachings from false prophets can be just as dangerous as reading their books. These individuals are skilled orators and know how to use language to sway people’s opinions and beliefs.
- False Teachers: False teachers come in many forms, from charismatic preachers on TV to smooth-talking politicians. They often use persuasive rhetoric to lead people away from the truth and into dangerous ideologies.
These sources of deception are dangerous because they often present themselves as legitimate or even desirable.
How Do We Protect Ourselves Against These Sources of Deception?
Here are some steps we can take:
✅ Guard your heart and mind with the truth of God’s Word.
✅ Surround yourself with wise and godly people who can provide guidance and accountability.
✅ Pray for wisdom and discernment, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you in all things.
✅ Be wary of teachers or leaders who use manipulative language or tactics to gain followers.
Remember, my friends, that Satan is cunning and will use any means necessary to lead you astray.
In conclusion, let us be vigilant against the sources of deception that threaten to lead us astray. Let us pursue knowledge with humility and wisdom, guided by the light of God’s Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Remember, our strength and our hope lie in God alone, not in our own understanding or intellect. As we navigate the complexities of this world, let us fix our eyes on Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
SEARCH LIGHT:
Knowledge can be dangerous when it comes from the wrong sources, such as the Internet, books, messages, and false teachers.
PRAYER:
Lord, give me the wisdom and guidance to seek knowledge from the right sources.
BIBLE READING: 1 Chronicles 2-4, 2 Corinth 3.
