LIVING IN THE LIGHT OF ETERNITY

LIVING IN THE LIGHT OF ETERNITY

MARCH 28, 2025

TEXT: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Right from when we were quite young, we have been made to know that our time on earth is a very short one. No matter how pleasant the world is; no matter the wealth you have amassed; no matter the titles and honours life has bestowed on us; one fact remains certain: We will leave this earth one day. We are mere sojourners and passers-by in this sinful world. However, your actions while on earth determines your final destination, i.e whether heaven or hell.

As christians, it is very sacrosanct for us to live daily with this in our heart, as a form of Spiritual reality check. The consciousness of where we will spend eternity should always affect our day-to-day activities in our homes, places of work, in the community and so on.

Apostle Paul, in his epistle to the people of Thessalonica (part of which forms our text for today), described the rapture and the beauty that comes with it. He said there will be a shout with the voice of the archangel and a trumpet, and the dead in Christ shall rise first, while those of us that are alive but saved will be caught up with the LORD in the clouds and reign with him. The ticket to be qualified for the above activity is not expensive. All we need is our salvation. The ticket, the dress code and every other requirements all boil down to our salvation. If you are not saved, forget it. Just like one of our Big fathers of faith said, “If you miss heaven, you will cry“.

The rapture is set to be the next biggest event ever in history and the preparations for it must be in top gear for us. We must not be caught off guard as that will spell doom for us.

SEARCHLIGHT: If you miss heaven, you will surely not miss hell. Put your house in order, for the hour is almost here.

PRAYERS: O LORD, help me to be “rapturable” on the last day, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
