LIVING ON THE MOUNTAIN OF CONFIDENCE AND POSSIBILITY 2

TEXT: I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)
Today is a continuation of yesterday’s discussion. Having examined the meaning of true and genuine confidence in the power of God to strengthen us.
However, it often happens that as believers, we become overwhelmed in certain circumstances, thereby making it practically impossible to have even the smallest level of confidence in Christ. We shall be examining various tips to keep us strong in periods like this.
HOW TO MAINTAIN CONFIDENCE IN GOD DURING ADVERSITY
- Cast your mind back to previous times that God has actually wrought victories for you. Remember His previous goodness and that will help reinforce your confidence in Him.
- Let God’s word be your companion at every given time. The more you study God’s word, the more your faith and confidence in Him become strengthened.
- Never relent in your prayers. Prayers offered to God and which are answered either immediately or later will undoubtedly strengthen our confidence in God.
- Affirm constantly the victory that God has given you, even if it does not look like it at that particular time.
Conclusively, as emphasised yesterday, being confident in Christ does not imply the absence of challenges and problems. However, when we are for Christ, we don’t see those problems as problems. Rather, we demonstrate and positively affirm the capacity of God to help us triumph over any such challenge.
