LIVING UNDER THE LORD’S CONTROL (1)
April 14, 2025
TEXT: Romans 12:1-2, James 4:7-8
KEY VERSE: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
Living under God’s control is not a one-time decision, but a continuous journey that every believer must embark upon. It is a daily commitment to surrender our will to His, to obey His commands, and to nurture our minds and hearts with His Word. This journey is not always easy, as we are constantly faced with temptations and distractions that threaten to pull us away from God’s path. But when we choose to live under His control, we find peace, purpose, and fulfillment that cannot be found anywhere else.
To better understand what it means to live under God’s control, let us explore seven aspects of this call to obedience and faithfulness, using the acronym ‘CONTROL’. Each letter represents a vital aspect of yielding ourselves to God’s will and guidance.
C: Complete Commitment to God (Romans 12:1-2)
O: Obedience with Humility before God (Consider a more relevant scripture)
N: Nurture Spirits and Minds with God’s Word (Romans 12:2)
T: Trust Always in God (Proverbs 3:5)
R: Remain Ready for Christ’s Return (1 Thessalonians 5:6)
O: Overcome Obstacles and Temptations (2 Corinthians 12:9)
L: Listening to His voice and being willing to follow His guidance (1 Kings 19:12)
As we have seen, living under God’s control encompasses a variety of aspects that shape our attitudes, behaviors, and priorities. It requires a daily commitment, humility, nurture, trust, readiness, and overcoming. But as we embrace these aspects, we are not called to do so out of fear or obligation, but out of love for God and gratitude for His sacrifice. It is through Christ’s ultimate surrender on the cross that we can find the strength to live surrendered lives ourselves.
Let us continue to explore the blessings of living under God’s control in Part 2, where we will delve deeper into the benefits of living a surrendered life. Until then, may God bless you and keep you.
SEARCH LIGHT: Listening to God’s voice and being willing to follow His guidance helps us align our lives with His will and purpose for us.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please guide my thoughts, actions, and words to align with Your will. Give me the grace to surrender my life fully to Your control.
BIBLE READING: 1 Chronicles 5-7, 2 Corinth 4.
