POWER FOR FRUITFUL EVANGELISM
January 31, 2025
TEXT:”But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (KJV)
All true believers have been given a great commission by Jesus Christ to share the Good News of salvation with the world. However, we cannot fulfil this commission in our own strength. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to empower us for fruitful evangelism.
In Acts 1:8, Jesus promises to endue us with power from on high. This power is not just for our own personal benefit, but to enable us to be effective witnesses for Him. In Matthew 28:18, Jesus declares, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” He has the power, and He promises to share that power with us.
However, possessing this power is not automatic. We have a responsibility to seek it, to ask for it, and to yield to it. We must cultivate a deep dependence on the Holy Spirit, seeking His filling and empowerment every day. We must also be willing to step out in faith, using the power that God has given us to share the Gospel with others.
As we exercise this power, we will see the Holy Spirit work through us to bring people to Christ. We will see lives transformed, hearts changed, and communities impacted. We will see the Kingdom of God advance, and we will be privileged to be a part of it.
