REACHING THE LOST
SEPTEMBER 27, 2024
TEXT: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
Jesus’ final command to His disciples before ascending to heaven was clear: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
This Great Commission is still every believer’s mandate today.Evangelism is the heartbeat of God, and reaching the lost is our sacred responsibility. It’s a call to share the Good News with boldness and compassion, intercede for the lost in prayer, and demonstrate God’s love through our actions. The apostle Paul’s passion for evangelism inspires us. He understood that evangelism wasn’t optional, but obligatory. Paul declared, “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16).
As ambassadors of Christ, we must recognize the urgency of lost souls perishing without Christ (John 3:16). We have the authority, commissioned by Jesus Himself (Matthew 28:18-20), and the power of the Holy Spirit empowering us to witness (Acts 1:8).We’re not called to convert people, but to share the Gospel. Conversion is God’s work; our role is to faithfully proclaim His message.Let’s commit to reaching the lost by taking time daily to pray for unbelieving , people around us, study God’s Word to deepen our understanding of the Gospel and sharing it with at least one person every week. We can also support evangelistic efforts through giving. By taking these significant steps, we’ll faithfully fulfil the Great Commission and bring hope to a dying world by God’s marvellous grace.
SEARCHLIGHT: The lost are waiting, and God is counting on us. Let’s reach out and bring hope to a dying world.
PRAYER: Ask the Lord to ignite a fresh passion for evangelism within you, in Jesus’ Name.
BIBLE READING:Jeremiah 8-10 & Rev. 22.
