REASON TO BE THANKFUL
DECEMBER 30, 2024
TEXT: O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. (Psalm 136:1)
As we approach the end of the year 2024, we have numerous reasons to be thankful. Although, upon examining your life throughout the outgoing year, you may conclude that positive events did not occur. However, if God opens your eyes to see all the evil from which He protected and safeguarded you, you will be profoundly thankful.
God’s steadfast love refers to His loyal, covenant-keeping love that endures forevermore. This love is unconditional, disregarding race, color, gender, and tribe; it is all-inclusive.
This divine love has preserved our lives throughout the year, safeguarding us from evil and darkness, granting us the privilege of being alive. Despite the year’s evil and tragic occurrences – numerous deaths, mental breakdowns, and illnesses – you remain standing!
Your financial and social circumstances may not be ideal, but this does not diminish God’s goodness towards us.
Thanksgiving acknowledges God’s sovereignty and goodness in our lives, cultivating gratitude and appreciation for the world’s Creator.
Reflect on the Lord’s goodness, and you will realize you have more reasons to be thankful than imagined.
SEARCHLIGHT: Spend the remaining year-end time appreciating God’s goodness, regardless of your situation’s severity.
PRAYER: O Lord, help me cultivate a grateful heart and mind, in Jesus’ mighty name.
