STANDING STRONG IN FAITH

STANDING STRONG IN FAITH

JANUARY 31, 2026

TEXT: “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind.”— 2 Timothy 1:7

Fear is one of the enemy’s most common weapons. It is used to weaken faith, confuse the mind, and stop believers from moving forward. When fear is allowed to take root, it brings torment, because fear does not come from God (1 John 4:18).

Just like Goliath stood before Israel to intimidate them, the devil often places situations before us to make us feel small, helpless, and defeated. But David responded differently. He stood firm in what he believed. With confidence in God, he faced the giant, not trusting in weapons, but in the power of the Lord. His victory reminds us that no challenge can stand against God.

Beloved, whenever fear shows up, we must respond with faith. God has already given us what we need to overcome—power to stand, love to remain steady, and a sound mind to think clearly. We are not helpless victims; we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ for good works (Ephesians 2:10).

When fear knocks, submit yourself to God and resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7). Speak God’s Word boldly, believing without doubt, because faith-filled words carry authority (Mark 11:23). Choose joy in the Lord, even when circumstances are uncomfortable, because joy strengthens the heart (1 Thessalonians 5:16).

Remember also that Christ has already dealt with fear at the cross. Every accusation, every threat, and every limitation was nailed there (Colossians 2:14). Through the blood of Jesus and the word of your testimony, you overcome (Revelation 12:11). God has given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you (Luke 10:19).
Fear has no final say. Jesus does.

SEARCHLIGHT:
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

PRAYER:
Father, as I journey through this year, I choose faith over fear. I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Strengthen my heart, steady my mind, and help me stand firm in You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
