TESTIMONIES THAT SILENCE THE ENEMIES (2)

TEXT: Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! (Numbers 23:23)
BIBLICAL CHARACTERS WHOSE TESTIMONIES SILENCED MOCKERY
- Hannah: Hannah was barren for a considerable period of her life. Her situation was so distressing that her co-wife, Peninah, mocked her and provoked her sorely, making her fret and depressed. Her condition was painful, to the point where she wept bitterly and refused to eat. However, she received a testimony that made everyone around her exclaim, “What has God wrought!” (1 Samuel 1-2).
- The Man Born Blind: This man’s story is quite intriguing. He was born blind and had never seen in his life. After his healing, even the Pharisees were flabbergasted, repeatedly asking, “How were your eyes opened?”. It was unthinkable to them that anyone could perform such a miracle. (John 9).
- Sarah: Sarah’s story is another “What has God wrought?” moment in the Bible. She was barren for much of her marriage until God visited her as He had promised. She gave birth to Isaac at the age of 90, with Abraham being 100 years old. The miracle prompted her to say, “God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me”. (Genesis 21).
- Rachel: She was barren at the start of her marriage. In fact, she watched as Leah and the two handmaids gave birth to eleven children before God remembered her and opened her womb, prompting her to say, “God has taken away my reproach”. It was a miracle that silenced years of reproach. (Genesis 30:22).
- Obed-Edom: After enduring poverty and reproach for a long time, he received God’s visitation. The ark of the covenant, which was meant to bring woe, changed his story. Even the king marvelled at what God had done in his life, and quickly brought the ark to his house to benefit from the blessing. (2 Samuel 6:11-15)
These individuals, among many others, all experienced God’s visitation in a remarkable way that left everyone amazed at their breakthroughs.
