THE “ABOVE” LIFE: SHIFTING FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING

TEXT: “And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them”(Deuteronomy 28:13).
A great day is here. The day that represents oneness in the tenth month that stands for goodness, fruitfulness, and power. So, I declare to your life you shall possess the ability to retain a sit at the top and remain there in the unity of Trinity, In Jesus name.
Now, according to our topic for today, in the English language, the word “above” implies “being on top or over a particular surface”. Unfortunately, many believers struggle merely to survive. Thriving has become an almost impossible mission for many. This contradicts God’s plans for our lives, as expressed in 3 John 1:2: “Beloved, I wish above all things, that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” God never intends for us to live a life of reproach, shame, and stagnancy.
The Difference Between Surviving and Thriving
As children of God, we were created to thrive, not just survive. Survival mode is characterized by scarcity, struggle, and stress. In contrast, thriving implies abundance, peace, and purpose. It’s time to shift our mindset and embrace the “above” life.
Key Facts on Surviving vs Thriving
To survive means being merely or averagely okay, while thriving means being wonderfully well-off in all spheres of human endeavors.To survive means obtaining something to avoid death/disease, while thriving means having access to that thing and more.Survival entails meeting short-term needs, while thriving addresses long-term needs.Survival is a life of “existing, but not living,” while thriving is “glorious manifestation and flourishing.”Surviving involves spontaneous reactions to circumstances, while thriving involves being proactive.
The Consequences of Settling for Survival
When we settle for survival, we miss out on God’s abundant blessings, live in constant fear and anxiety, struggle to make ends meet, lack purpose and direction, and fail to fulfill our divine potential.
