THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD

TEXT: The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace (Exodus 14:14)

As believers, one thing that must always ring in our hearts is the fact that, no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in, God is always with us in the storm. He is ever willing and ready to fight for us. The verses preceding our given text show the case of the Israelites, who were on their way out of Egypt. Upon approaching the Red Sea, the people turned back and saw the Egyptian forces pursuing them. They were agitated and cried out to Moses, indirectly blaming him for bringing them to the condition they found themselves in. They asked him if there were no graves in Egypt and why he had brought them to die on their way to the Promised Land.

However, God encouraged them through Moses to move forward, and Moses encouraged them to be at peace with themselves, assuring them that God was on the throne, ready to defend them. From the above, we must note that in the journey of life, we are not alone. No matter how dire the situation is, once we have our faith constantly placed in God, He is ready to deliver us. (Romans 8:28). We must note that whatever battle we find ourselves in is actually not ours, as the battle belongs to the LORD. All you need to do is remain still and calm and see how God’s grace will manifest in safeguarding us. By strength shall no man prevail, and our physical strength cannot, in any way, deliver us from many battles, unless we leave those battles to the LORD of hosts. (1 Samuel 2:9)

SEARCHLIGHT
Don’t take over God’s battle from Him.

PRAYER
O LORD, take over my battles and defend me, in Jesus’ name.
