THE DANGER OF SPIRITUAL COMPLACENCY IN THESE LAST DAYS
January 6, 2025
TEXT
“And they shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” – Matthew 8:12 (KJV)
Beloved, as we enter 2025, we draw closer to the end of the world as we know it. The imminent return of Christ is no longer a distant reality, but an urgent reminder to examine our spiritual lives. Spiritual complacency poses a significant threat to our eternal well-being.
The consequences of spiritual complacency are severe: eternal separation from God, outer darkness, anguish, regret, weeping, and gnashing of teeth. The Great Tribulation, a period of unprecedented suffering, looms on the horizon.
History’s lessons are clear. Noah’s flood and Sodom’s destruction serve as warnings (2 Peter 3:3-6, Genesis 18-19). Today’s world exhibits ominous signs: iniquity, lawlessness, godlessness, disasters, and abominations.
As Christ’s return draws near, understanding end-time events is crucial. To overcome spiritual complacency, we must repent from sin, turning away from worldly desires and embracing God’s will. Remaining faithful requires obedience to God’s Word, cultivating a deep relationship with Him. Staying watchful involves vigilant prayer, seeking guidance and strength.
