THE FRUIT OF CONVERSION
SEPTEMBER 30, 2024
TEXT: “Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance.” (Matthew 3:8)
Jesus, while delivering His Sermon on the Mount, declared the importance of fruitfulness when said, *”Ye shall know them by their fruits* (Matthew 7:16). Thus, true conversion is more than just a one-time decision; it’s a transformative experience that changes our lives. When we surrender to Jesus Christ, we bear fruit that reflects our new nature.
A changed heart is demonstrated by our love for God and others, as Jesus taught in the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40). Our minds are renewed by God’s Word, transforming our thoughts and actions (Romans 12:2). We live a life of repentance, turning away from sin and towards righteousness (Acts 3:19). We commit to obedience, following God’s commands (John 14:15).
We extend mercy and forgiveness to others, just as God has forgiven us (Matthew 6:14-15). And we walk in humility, recognizing our dependence on God (1 Peter 5:6-7).As we walk in the Spirit, our lives produce fruit that glorifies God. We experience love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Our relationship with God deepens through prayer and communion (Luke 18:1-8). We serve others in love, reflecting Christ’s servant heart (Mark 9:35; Philippians 2:5-9). And we share our testimony of hope, spreading Christ’s love to those around us (1 Peter 3:15).This transformation is a lifelong process, and we must continually seek God’s guidance and empowerment. As we abide in Christ, we grow in spiritual maturity, and our fruit becomes more abundant and lasting. May we remain rooted in His love and grace.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for transforming my life through salvation. Help me bear fruit that glorifies You, in Jesus’ Name.
