TEXT:”And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.” John 20:28 (KJV)

Beloved, the Lordship and Divinity of Christ is a fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith. It is essential that we understand and acknowledge the uniqueness, supreme power, and worthiness of worship of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Bible, we see numerous passages that affirm the Lordship and Divinity of Christ. In John 1:1-14, we read that Jesus is the Word of God, who was with God in the beginning and is Himself God. In Hebrews 1:1-3, we see that Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being.

The uniqueness of Christ is evident in His sinless life, miraculous ministry, and substitutionary death on the cross. He is the only one who can forgive sins, heal the broken-hearted, and give eternal life. In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The supreme power of Christ is evident in His authority over all creation. In Matthew 28:18, Jesus says, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” He has power over nature, demons, and even death itself. In Revelation 1:18, Jesus says, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

The worthiness of worship of Christ is evident in the fact that He is worthy of all praise, honour, and glory. In Revelation 5:12-14, we see that all creation worships Christ, saying, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”
