THE POWER OF A DIVINE ENCOUNTER

TEXT: Acts 9:1–9
KEY VERSE: “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:” (Acts 9:3)
Life’s journey is filled with many paths, and who we meet along the way can shape the direction of our story. Sometimes it’s a soulmate, a mentor, or even a stranger whose words impact us forever. But the greatest turning point in any life is an encounter with Jesus Christ. That’s exactly what happened to Saul (later called Paul) on the road to Damascus. It was not just a dramatic moment—it was a divine intervention that changed the course of his life and, through him, impacted the entire world.
Before this encounter, Saul was zealous for the wrong cause, passionately persecuting followers of Jesus. But in a single moment, God stopped him in his tracks. That light from heaven, that voice of Jesus—it broke through Saul’s blindness, both physical and spiritual. And from that day forward, his life was never the same.
It’s important to recognize that our encounters in life have great influence. If we connect with people whose intentions are shaped by darkness, we risk being led off course. That’s why who you allow to speak into your life matters. But when you encounter Jesus, everything changes. That moment marks the beginning of true purpose, peace, and power.
Paul’s transformation began on what seemed like just another ordinary day on the road to Damascus. He was not looking for Jesus, yet Jesus found him. That divine encounter turned his misguided passion into a powerful purpose. From that moment, his journey was no longer about destruction, but about destiny. Maybe today can be that day for you.
In conclusion, don’t forget that one genuine encounter with Jesus can rewrite your entire destiny. Be cautious of the people you allow into your life—they can shape your direction, for better or worse. An encounter with Jesus brings the clarity and transformation no human relationship can offer. No one is ever too far gone to be turned around by God’s light.
SEARCH LIGHT: No matter how far you’ve gone or what path you’re on, Jesus can meet you there—and from that moment on, your life will never be the same.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, meet me on my journey, just as You met Paul. Open my eyes, change my heart, and lead me into the life You’ve purposed for me. Amen.
