THE TRANSFORMATIONAL TOUCH OF JESUS CHRIST (2)
AUGUST 26, 2025
TEXT: When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. (John 9:6)
Today, we shall continue with our discussion on what the transformational touch of the Master can do to change a person’s life for the best. Let’s take a look at some of our brethren from the Bible whose lives changed completely because of that one touch:
- The paralytic man: Having been lame for over 38 years, it is safe to conclude that this man’s life had been full of misery and unaccomplished dreams. For 38 years, he was beside the pool of Bethesda where he never experienced any favour until the Great Physician passed that way and gave him that one touch that freed and released him from affliction. (John 5)
- The widow of Nain: It was affliction enough on its own that this woman had no husband. To make matters worse, she lost her only son and consolation, and on the way to the graveyard, her life seemed to be completely shattered. Her dreams had been punctured and she was now isolated on earth. However, she came into contact with the compassionate Saviour and the rest is history. (Luke 7:14-15)
- Leah: Leah was the first wife of the Patriarch Jacob, who was “erroneously married” to Jacob, no thanks to the cunningness and craftiness of Laban. Leah was never loved from the onset and all Jacob’s interest rested on her younger sister, Rachel. However, her previously miserable life changed completely when God decided to give her the transformational touch. He deliberately opened up her womb while deliberately shutting down Rachel’s own. (Genesis 29:31)
- Jabez: Here was a man who had nothing good happening in his life. He was isolated, despised, maligned and forsaken in the journey of life. However, he cried for the touch of God and “…God granted him his request” (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).
- Prophet Isaiah: It was when the supernatural touch of God came upon this man that he got the authentic footprint of his ministerial call. Hitherto, he had been a mere palace prophet who had never had any true connection with heaven and was probably just prophesying to please King Uzziah. It was when Uzziah died that this man saw the LORD for the first time, got the touch and had his life and ministry changed. (Isaiah 6)
- The lame man at Lystra: This man had been lame for a long time, just like the man at the pool of Bethesda. However, he connected with the God of Apostle Paul who was ministering to them at Lystra, and he got his supernatural touch that his life so desperately needed. (Acts 14)
