TOO LATE TO MAN, RIGHT TIME TO GOD (1)
DECEMBER 29, 2025
TEXT: Luke 7:11-15
KEY VERSE: And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not (v. 13).
Beloved, it is no longer news that the year is about to end. In another two or three days, we shall be raising our hands and voices to shout “Happy New Year”. It is premised on this that I bring you this piece to encourage you on the need to remain steadfast in your faith.
Many of us have already “closed” our minds towards receiving anything worthwhile from the Lord this year. We believe the year has gone already and that nothing significant can occur in our lives again. I have come to tell you that the God of divine visitation is still actively in the business of surprising people, regardless of the seemingly little time we have left to cross into another phase.
In the text under consideration, we saw the initially unfortunate story of the widow of Nain whose only son was being conveyed to the grave for burial. At that point, they must have lost every atom of hope. The woman must have definitely resigned herself to fate, believing that her last years on earth would be lonely with no husband or child to interact with. But fortunately for her, man proposes; God disposes. Eventually, Jesus Christ came forth for the woman and her joy was restored at the very last minute.
Our God does not work with human time factors. Thus, man can claim that your manifestation is too early but God says, “No! It isn’t”. In similar vein, man may claim that you are too slow in the journey of life, but God says, “No! That is my perfect timing”. God is never in a hurry, neither is He late. He is always “on time”. A day is like a thousand years to God. He is in control of timing mechanisms (2 Peter 3:8).
You can still receive that divine healing. That dream job you have laboured for tirelessly in the place of prayer can still come. That contract can be settled. That affliction can still be settled.
SEARCHLIGHT: God does not work with man’s agenda but with Heaven’s agenda. Thus, when men say it is too late, heaven says no, it is not time yet!
PRAYER: God of 11th hour miracle, God of suddenness, give me a miracle that will leave me dumbfounded, in Jesus’ name.
BIBLE READING: Genesis 35-37, Acts 12
