WHEN AT A LOW EBB
SEPTEMBER 14, 2024
TEXT : To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” ( Ecclesiastes 3:1 )
The journey of mortal existence often brings a myriad of trials and tribulations, with some experiences being so overwhelming that it feels like the world is against you. In these moments, known as the low ebb of the tide, when the heavens seem to have gone silent and nothing seems to be going in your favour, it is crucial to take conscious care of your attitudes and actions. These can play a significant role in determining when a desired miracle will manifest. Negative attitudes during such moments can prolong the situation and impede the expected resolution. Therefore when navigating through the low ebb of the tide, DON’T:
a.Forget God’s faithfulness in the past, for His steadfast love never fails (Psalms 103:2-5).
b. Conclude that God has forsaken you, for He has engraved you on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:15).
c. Lose faith in God’s promises, for He is faithful and true (Numbers 23:19).
d . Give up your scriptural convictions, for they are the lamp to your feet and the light to your path (Hebrews 10:23).
e. Withdraw your spiritual commitments and consecrations, for they will fortify you against the enemy’s attacks (Hebrews 10:38).
f. Neglect regular prayers and Bible study, for they are your lifeline to the Lord (Psalm 91:1; Luke 18:1).
g. Forsake the fellowship of fellow believers, for they are your spiritual support system (Hebrews 10:25).
h. Indulge in self-pity, murmuring, and complaining, for they are detrimental to your faith and well-being (1 Corinthians 10:10,11).
I. Panic or despair, for the Lord is your strength and hope (Isaiah 35:4; Mark 5:36).
j. Make negative confessions, for they have the power to create the very thing you fear (Numbers 14:28; Matthew 12:37).
k. Resort to self-management, for the Lord’s plans are always better than your own (Proverbs 3:5).
l. Make hasty decisions, for God’s timing is always perfect (Proverbs 3:6).-l
m. Take counsel from the ungodly, for they can lead you astray (Proverbs 1:10).
n. Pay attention to false prophets and their “quick” miracles, for they are like wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15).
o. Envy others, especially unbelievers, who seem to have no problems, for comparison is the thief of joy (Proverbs 23:17).
p. Be touchy, bitter, and angry towards others, for love is the foundation of a peaceful life (James 1:19,20).
q. Lose hope, for the Lord is your ever-present help in times of trouble (Galatians 6:9).
And above all, remember that the Lord is with you, He is for you, and He is always faithful to His promises. Let this truth be the anchor that holds you steady during the low ebb of the tide. Stay strong in your beliefs, and hold fast to the knowledge that this too shall pass. Soon, the storm clouds will part, and you will emerge with manifold testimonies of God’s faithfulness and grace (Amen).
SEARCHLIGHT : Don’t make permanent decision because of temporary crisis.
PRAYER : Father, I hold fast to You and Your Word amidst life’s storms, for Your promises are steadfast. I trust in Your faithfulness, that soon this siege will pass, and I will share my testimonies of Your goodness. Amen.
BIBLE READING: Isaiah 56-58 & Rev 16.
