ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER

ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER

JUNE 23, 2026

TEXT: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

The text which is our anchor verse for today is one of the most widely abused Bible verses in our generation. Many people believe that what Apostle Paul said was tantamount to Christians doing whatever they liked, and that whatever they do, good or bad, works together for them and to the glory of God. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Apostle Paul was simply talking about the sovereign nature of God and how He can use the seemingly improbable to manifest His glory in our respective lives.

As believers, it is not unusual for things to appear tangled for us at times. Sometimes, we might even pray for things to happen, but the heavens appear sealed. In fact, we might even suffer losses and catastrophes, but in all these, God still remains faithful.

Beloved, have it at the back of your mind that God does not do things predictably. If His ways are predictable, then such things are no longer qualified to be called miracles.

Now, let’s examine the life of Brother Job in the Bible. This was a man who had thousands of sheep, camels, yokes of oxen, asses, etc. He also had seven sons and three daughters. Unfortunately for him, the devil paid his family a “visit,” and he lost all except his life and his wife. His wife even suggested that he curse God and commit suicide. However, our dear brother remained unmoved, and everything negative worked and turned around positively for him. Today, we can proudly mention his name as one of the rugged students in the university of faith. (Job 42:10-17; Job 1).

You might look at yourself and perceive unworthiness, uselessness, and ineptitude. However, Christ is glorified even in our challenges and trials. He is looking for a way to turn the impossible into stories of positive reference and reckoning. Sometimes, you might so much long for that job, position, promotion, title, academic rank, office, money, etc. These things might not come as easily as you want, but that doesn’t mean God is unfaithful.

Apart from Job’s example, there is Joseph. All his afflictions, tribulations, and pain worked together like carefully prepared ingredients to facilitate his elevation to the palace. He was thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, resold to Potiphar, lied against, and finally imprisoned. Unknown to him, those were mere training grounds for a future glorious manifestation.

Let not your soul be downcast and disquieted within you when you face tests and tribulations, as all things will come together as one to fashion out an outcome of favour for you.

SEARCHLIGHT: God is sovereign and omniscient, and no matter the emotional attachment we have to our lives and destinies, God ultimately still knows the best design for our lives.

PRAYER: O God, let my life become an emblem of testimony, in Jesus’ mighty name.
