ALONE WITH GOD
TEXT: “And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.” (Matthew 14:23)
We are 11 days into July 2026. Noise is up. Pressure is up. Opinions are loud. But your next height is not in the midst of this. It’s only at the dependence of your closet. Mark 1:35 Jesus rose early, went to a solitary place, and prayed. Before public power can come private separation is inevitable.
“Alone with God” is not loneliness. It’s loading. It’s where dust is shaken off and oil is poured on. Isaiah 52:2, Shake thyself from the dust… arise. You can’t arise in public if you never knelt in private.
1. ALONE IS WHERE IDENTITY IS REVEALED
Genesis 32:24, “And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him.” Jacob entered alone as a cheat. He left as Israel, a prince with God. Crowds give applause. Alone gives names.
Moses was alone 40 days and returned with tablets. Exodus 34:29 Paul was alone in Arabia 3 years and returned with revelation. Galatians 1:17-18 Your standing out begins when you sit down alone with God. No audience. No performance. Just raw encounter.
2. ALONE IS WHERE INSTRUCTIONS ARE RECEIVED
1 Kings 19:11-12, Elijah heard God not in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a still small voice. Noise cancels instruction.
Jesus fed 5,000 in public, but got the “bread plan” in private. Matt 14:19-21 Mid-year direction doesn’t come from more conferences. It comes from more quiet. Shut the door. Matt 6:6 God doesn’t shout where He’s not honored. Your next move for July to December is waiting in the secret place. Psalm 91:1
3. ALONE IS WHERE IMPARTATION IS RELEASED
Luke 6:12-13, Jesus spent the night alone with God, then chose 12 apostles in the morning. Private prayer births public power.
The upper room was not a crusade. 120 people alone with God. Acts 2:1-4 One encounter ended 50 days of waiting. You don’t need another man’s oil if you have your own well. 2 Kings 4:4, Shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and pour out. Alone is where empty vessels get filled.
4. ALONE IS WHERE ALIGNMENT IS ENFORCED
Luke 22:42, “Not my will, but thine, be done.” Gethsemane was Jesus alone with God. That’s where flesh died and purpose lived.
Before the public strength came, private separation prepared it. God does not display what He has not developed in secret.
SEE WHERE GOD DEVELOPED THE FOLLOWING PATRIARCHS
1. DAVID: THE FIELD BEFORE THE FRONTLINE _1 Samuel 17:34-37, Before Goliath saw David, lions and bears had met him alone with God in the bush. No crowd. No king. Just a boy, a harp, and heaven. Your Goliath is only scared of the God you met in private. Public victory is just a replay of private battles won on your knees. If you skipped the field, you’ll shake on the frontline.
2. ESTHER: THE CONSECRATION BEFORE THE CROWN
Esther 4:16, “Fast ye for me… I also and my maidens will fast.” Before she stood before the king, she knelt before the King of kings. Three days alone with God overturned a national death sentence. Your rest-of-the-year deliverance is not in more talking. It’s in more tarrying. Private fast births public favor.
3. PAUL: ARABIA BEFORE ANTIOCH
Galatians 1:15-18, After conversion, Paul didn’t rush to Jerusalem pulpits. He went to Arabia. Alone with God for 3 years. Revelation in separation became revolution in nations. Don’t let mid-year pressure push you to perform before you’re formed. Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said… Public assignment flows from private attention.
Even it was JESUS’ WILDERNESS BEFORE HIS WONDERS
Luke 4:1, 14, Jesus was led into the wilderness full of the Spirit. He returned in the power of the Spirit. The same place that tried Him, certified Him. Your wave of new heights will not answer to noise. It answers to the strength you gathered when no one was clapping. _Matt 14:23, He sent multitudes away to be alone. Multitudes can drain you if you don’t discharge in God first.
SEARCHLIGHT: If the devil can’t stop your salvation, he will stop your “alone with God.” “Alone” is God’s school for authority. If you lose your secret place, you lose your everything. Your enemies: self, sin,and Satan only bow to what you’ve built in separation.
PRAYERS: Father, call me away from the crowd of popularity into the cave of power purity. Let my private altar birth my public authority in purity. In this season, I refuse to be empty in front of men because I was absent before You. Strengthen me in the secret place, In Jesus’ name.
