MIGHTY POWER IN JESUS’ NAME

TEXT:”Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” Philippians 2:9-10 (KJV)
The name of Jesus is a powerful name that carries immense authority and might. In Philippians 2:9-10, we see that God has given Jesus a name that is above every other name, and that at the mention of His name, every knee shall bow.
This mighty power in Jesus’ name is not just theoretical; it is practical and can be experienced in our daily lives. In Acts 3, we see a powerful illustration of this truth. Peter and John were going to the temple to pray when they encountered a lame man who had been unable to walk since birth. The man asked them for alms, but Peter and John had no money to give him. Instead, Peter said to him, “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).
And to the amazement of all who were present, the lame man was instantly healed! He rose up and began to walk, leaping and praising God. This miracle was not performed by Peter’s or John’s power, but by the mighty power in Jesus’ name.
As believers, we are charged to deploy the power in Jesus’ name when confronted with challenges. Whether it’s a physical, emotional, or spiritual challenge, we can use the name of Jesus to overcome it. However, we must remember that the name of Jesus is only effective for true Christians. The Bible warns us about the danger of abusing the name of Jesus, as seen in the example of the seven sons of Sceva, who tried to use the name of Jesus to cast out demons but were instead overpowered by the demons (Acts 19:13-16). Let us use the name of Jesus with reverence, humility, and faith, knowing that it is a powerful tool that can bring victory and breakthrough in our lives.

The name of Jesus is a powerful name that carries immense authority and might. When we use this name in faith, we can experience the mighty power of God in our lives.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to understand and appreciate the mighty power in Jesus’ name. Give me the faith to use this name in my daily life, and to experience the miracles and wonders that it can bring.
