THE POWER OF SECRECY IN DESTINY II

TEXT: “That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.” (Judges 16:17)

Yesterday, we discussed the importance of secrecy in delicate areas such as destiny matters, and we shall continue with the discussion today.

KEY FACTS ABOUT SECRECY

  1. There is no child of God that does not have his own destiny code. Do not tamper with your destiny codes. They are personal and delicate, and must not be shared with anyone, no matter how close. Any slight tampering that takes place with your destiny secret leaves you completely vulnerable and prone to the adversary, the devil.
  2. One of the attributes of a spiritually mature Christian is knowing when to stop talking too much. Samson, our central character, had the opportunity to end his affairs with Delilah when it was obvious that the woman was simply looking for how to ensnare him. He, however, refused to leave until the enemy preyed on him. It is not every one of God’s dealings with you that you narrate or share with everyone. (Proverbs 25:9)
  3. The enemy knows that every child of God is a prospective danger to his kingdom. In order to prevent this, he arranges for distractions through which such a person leaks his secrets to those who should not hear them. Once the devil penetrates your spiritual life, you are as good as “gone.” (Judges 16:19–20)
  4. To catch a believer is not an easy task for the devil. He knows this, and that is why he first lures you to “sleep” spiritually before taking any further destructive step.
  5. When you are set apart for a special purpose, you can’t afford to live in negligence and exposure. It will cost you a lot of things, one of which is focus.

SEARCHLIGHT: Do not be caught off guard. Defend your secret place like your life depends on it.

PRAYER: O Lord, help me to guard my destiny with Your help and support, in Jesus’ mighty name.

BIBLE READING: Daniel 1–3; Luke 19
