TAKE CHARGE
JANUARY 29, 2026
TEXT: “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” — Matthew 11:12 (KJV)
Life is a journey filled with challenges, resistance, and obstacles. As you pursue purpose and progress, you will often face moments that demand courage, discipline, and determination. The truth is this: the power to change your reality and fulfill your God-given destiny is within you.
This is why you must TAKE CHARGE.
To take charge means to take control and exercise dominion. We see this clearly in the life of Daniel—a young man who refused to be passive and became exceptional in a foreign land because he took charge of his life.
Taking charge begins from within.
C – Character
Character is not something you are born with; it is something you build. Every truly successful person stands on the foundation of strong character. Taking charge of your character me and intentionally developing integrity, discipline, and consistency—just like strengthening a muscle over time.
Gifts and potential without character will eventually collapse. As Billy Graham wisely said:
“When wealth is lost, nothing is lost;
When health is lost, something is lost;
But when character is lost, all is lost.”
H – Heart
The heart is the control center of life.
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” — Proverbs 4:23
Every victory or defeat begins in the heart. When you take charge of your heart, your decisions align with God’s will, your values, and your purpose. The heart is like a garden—it can grow success or failure. What seeds are you planting?
A – Attitude
Your attitude determines how far you go. A positive, proactive attitude releases creativity and brings out the best in you. A negative attitude suppresses God-given potential.
John Maxwell said it clearly:
“Attitude, not aptitude, determines altitude.”
Choose an attitude that lifts you forward.
R – Relationships
Relationships are like passengers on a ship. The people you allow close to you will determine whether your journey is smooth or stormy. Surround yourself with those who share your values and support your purpose.
Allowing the wrong people into your life can sabotage destiny—like Jonah bringing a storm, or Judas betraying purpose. Choose wisely.
G – Gifts
Many people neglect or underestimate their gifts. Taking charge of your gift means discovering, developing, and using it for God’s glory and for the benefit of others.
Joseph and Daniel used their gifts to bless nations and save lives. Your gift is not just for you—it is meant to impact others. Never allow your gift to serve the devil or remain unused.
E – Emotions
Many destinies have been buried under uncontrolled emotions. Samson was full of potential, yet his emotions led to his downfall.
Emotion can overpower knowledge. As our spiritual father says:
“Emotion is stronger than knowledge.”
To succeed, you must recognize, manage, and take charge of your emotions so they do not take charge of you.
In conclusion, when you take charge of your character, heart, attitude, relationships, gifts, and emotions, you position yourself for God to put you in charge.
SEARCHLIGHT:
Life is full of challenges, but when you take charge of your life and embrace the best God has placed inside you, you will persevere, overcome, and triumph.
PRAYER:
Father, help me to put into action all that I have learned, so that I may take charge of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
