LIVING RIGHT AND STANDING FIRM

LIVING RIGHT AND STANDING FIRM

TEXT: EPHESIANS 6

KEY VERSE : “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” —Ephesians 6:11

The closing part of this letter brings everything down to how a believer should actually live. It begins with simple but weighty instructions—children obeying parents, fathers raising children rightly, and people serving faithfully in whatever responsibility they have. The emphasis is clear: Christianity is not just what we say we believe; it must be seen in how we live daily. A life that is truly yielded to God will show it first in ordinary relationships and responsibilities.

There is also a shift in perspective about service. Work is no longer just about people or positions; it becomes something done before God. This changes everything. When a believer understands that God is watching, sincerity replaces eye-service, and faithfulness becomes consistent. It means doing what is right, even when no one is there to notice. This kind of life builds spiritual strength quietly and steadily.

Then comes a deeper revelation—the believer is in a battle. Not every struggle is physical or visible. There are unseen forces at work, and ignoring this reality makes a believer careless. This is why strength is not optional. But the strength required is not human strength; it is strength drawn from God. Without this, a believer may try to stand but will easily be shaken.

The instruction to put on the whole armour of God shows that spiritual stability is intentional. Truth must guide the life, righteousness must guard the heart, faith must be active, and the Word of God must be present and alive within. These are not ideas to admire but realities to live in. Prayer then ties everything together, keeping the believer connected to God continuously.

In the end, the call is simple but serious—stand. Not for a moment, but consistently. The Christian life is not about starting well only, but about remaining firm. A believer who stands daily in truth, prayer, and obedience will not be easily overcome.

SEARCHLIGHT : A careless believer becomes an easy target, but a guarded life stands firm.

PRAYER : Lord, help me to live rightly in every area of my life and to take my walk with You seriously. Strengthen me to stand firm against every challenge. Teach me to depend on You daily and to remain watchful in prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
