THE DANGER OF MINIMAL COMPROMISE (2)

THE DANGER OF MINIMAL COMPROMISE (2)

APRIL 24, 2026

TEXT: But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:13)

Yesterday, we examined the inherent danger that comes with compromising one’s stand in Christ. One of the key points we examined yesterday can be subsumed in the fact that compromise can make sin become a kind of habit, and when sin becomes habitual, destruction is inevitable.

Today, we shall go further by examining the way and manner by which a believer can successfully overcome the deception of sin.

WAYS TO OVERCOME DECEPTION OF SIN AND COMPROMISE

  1. Dig deeper into the Word of God. This will expose you further to diverse truths. (Psalm 119:11) Of course, when a person toes the way of truth, such truth shall set him free.
  2. Walk in the light and be open unto God. The most dangerous sin in the world is secret sin. (1 John 1:7)
  3. Guard and regulate the thoughts of your heart. Filter whatever goes in and out of the heart. (Proverbs 4:23)
  4. Encourage one another and be a pillar of support to one another. (Hebrews 3:13) Proper guidance will undoubtedly help prevent deception and compromise.

The danger of sin is not only in its punishment but in its deception. It quietly pulls people away from God while making everything seem perfect.

SEARCHLIGHT: Compromise is like a terminal disease that is assigned to take people’s lives slowly while the victim has little or no awareness at all.

PRAYER: O LORD, set me free from the clutches of sin, in the mighty name of Jesus.
