RIGHTEOUSNESS AS A TOOL FOR EFFECTIVE PRAYERS 2

TEXT: The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16)
Yesterday, we discussed the place of righteousness and holiness as a veritable tool for prayers to be answered by God.
In continuation, it must always ring in the minds of believers that no prayer offered in iniquity will be answered.
In his epistle, Apostle James identified Elijah as someone who walked righteously with God and was able to move mountains effortlessly.
Righteousness is pivotal to a believer in the aspect of prayers for the following reasons:
- It brings us to a life of alignment and compatibility with the will of God (1st John 5:14). Any prayer offered with the will of God in mind will be attended to by God.
- Righteousness helps to build spiritual authority and stature. When you are righteous, you can command and sanction in the spirit. Take a look at the life of the great Prophet Elijah.
- Righteousness eliminates obstacles and hindrances to answered prayers.
- It strengthens our confidence in prayers.
- It solidifies our communion and relationship with God.
In addition, we, as believers, must understand that to make our lives more effective, we must learn how to deal with the grip of sin over our lives.
SEARCHLIGHT: Your lifestyle either makes or mars your spiritual life.
PRAYERS: O God, help me remove every obstacle on my way to answered prayers, in Jesus’ mighty name.
