O LORD, DEFEND ME TIMEOUSLY 1
JUNE 18, 2026
TEXT: 1 Kings 21:1–16
KEY VERSE: “And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.” (1 Kings 21:13)
One of the best prayer points that a believer can ever pray to God is to ask for His defence before things go out of hand.
It is a well-known fact that we are surrounded by enemies and antagonists who spend their time seeking the destruction of our souls. It is, however, expedient that you strive to protect your destiny from fatality and destiny massacre. We are all loaded with divinely ordained destinies and virtues, and failure to be intentional about the protection of our destiny might prove catastrophic.
How glorious would it have been if Naboth had indeed cried out unto God for deliverance? How wonderful would it have been if he had been more protective of his life and destiny? His life would not have been wasted so carelessly.
The painful reality is that many people only become serious in prayer when the enemy has already struck. Naboth’s experience reminds us that spiritual vigilance is not optional. While we may not always know the devices of the enemy, we serve a God who knows all things. Therefore, it is wise to seek His covering, guidance, and intervention continually. A destiny that is regularly committed into God’s hands is not easily preyed upon by the forces of darkness.
Many of us today are very aware of the plots of the devil, yet we choose to remain indifferent and lukewarm in our spiritual engagements. The truth is that the enemy does not relent. Rather, he keeps looking for more potent weapons with which to harm the children of God. Do not let anyone waste your life and then have your name recorded among wasted souls and destinies when he or she eventually comes to know Christ. (May I not be counted among the historical victims of witchcraft rage, in Jesus’ name.)
Cry unto God while you can. Do not wait until it is too late. God fighting for you is good, but it is better for that to occur while you are still alive.
SEARCHLIGHT: Never give the enemy the means of destroying your life and destiny. Be connected to God very early for unrivalled spiritual protection and guidance.
PRAYER: O LORD, may I not be wasted for nothing, in Jesus’ mighty name.
