WAITING BEFORE MANIFESTING 2
MAY 25, 2026
TEXT: “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father…” (Acts 1:4)
Today, we shall continue with the above topic which we earlier started on Thursday.
As believers, we need to understand that waiting is part of spiritual discipline. Waiting does not imply laziness or procrastination. It is a moment of seeking spiritual alignment with God’s timing and purpose. It is a waste of time to launch out hurriedly into a spiritual assignment without first waiting on God to learn the “ropes.”
Many are too eager for quick gratification. They are so eager to showcase their so-called qualities without waiting to ascertain whether or not they have the relevant spiritual wherewithal to do so.
God’s timing is perfect; more perfect than human urgency. The disciples likely wanted immediate action after Jesus’ resurrection. Instead, Jesus taught them what patience entails. He told them to wait for the promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit, so that they could receive all-round guidance. Everything has its own timing and season (Ecclesiastes 3:1). If the disciples had swung into action immediately after Jesus’ resurrection, they would have missed it entirely in the journey of the gospel.
Many people fail in their endeavours simply because they cannot wait to hear God speak. They are in haste. Some feel they have all it takes to move on their own, with little or no support from God.
SEARCHLIGHT: Forced manifestation without prior preparation will lead to ultimate frustration.
PRAYER: O LORD, may I not run faster than You, in Jesus’ mighty name.
